Inspired by our time floating down the River Cam in late May and June. We like to get in at Byron’s Pool, by our home, just above Grantchester. Time is spent drifting and paddling, staring up at trees, staring down into reflections, watching the insects dance, leaves and detritus drifting on the surface and the fish swimming beneath. Hearing the flutter of wings above us and watching the grey heron flying off in front of us, at the river bend by the millpond.
This was a space we were grateful for as an escape from the four walls of lockdown (Covid-19 Pandemic).
